Burlington’s year-round food waste pick-up by bicycle.
This is your chance to not only divert food scraps from landfills, but to reduce the amount of fossil fuels that would otherwise be used to truck waste to a landfill or industrialized compost facilities.
How to Sign Up:
All that is needed to sign up is for you to send along (in an email or by telephone) your full name, address, contact information, the location on your property you would like your tote to be picked up from and which service you would like. We then will add you to either a Tuesday or Thursday route and your tote will be on its way the following week.
How it Works:
On your scheduled pick-up day between the hours of 9am-5pm, a One Rev rider will empty and scrap out your tote. After all the collections are done compost is dropped off at the CSWD transfer center before it makes it’s way to it’s final destination at Green Mountain Compost. In addition to collection, we also offer finished Green Mountain Compost return every five pick ups throughout spring and summer.
Initial Start-Up fee is $15 which includes a latchable 6.75 gallon tote and a ten count of Bag to Earth compostable bags
Weekly service $8 a pick-up
Bi-Weekly service $10 a pick-up
We also ask that customers inform us 24 hours prior to their pick-up if they will not be putting out there tote. Without that notification customers will be charged $6 as opposed to an original $8 or $10 for the transportation labor.
Participate in some neighborly love and save on your compost service. Receive a dollar off your monthly bill for each new neighbor on your street who joins. We already have people taking advantage of our deal on Lakeview Terrace and Bayview. Thinking of signing up, but don't know if your street is already included? Shoot us an email and we will be more than happy to let you know.
